Lake St Clair Lodge not affected by the Tasmanian Bush fires

January 1, 2013

In the recent days, parts of the east coast of Tasmania have been affected by bush fires.  Emergency service providers and operators have all worked tirelessly in the affected area’s and Lake St Clair Lodge will continue to support their efforts.

Areas severely affected by the bush fires are currently contained to select locations, and in many areas of the state, it is business as usual.  Fortunately, Lake St Clair is unaffected by the fires and continues to be fully operational.  Access to and from our site is still possible via road or bus.  Rather than cancel your holiday to the island state, why not reroute it to other unaffected area’s, such as Lake St Clair.  The clean air and the alpine forests are particularly rejuvenating this time of the year, and with the new cabin accommodation that is now available, it is easy to see how one could take a few days to relax and unwind.

Visitors to Tasmania may contact one of the Tasmanian Visitor Centres for further information about area’s that are unaffected and can stay in touch with the situation regarding fires and road closures through the ABC website: www.abc.net.au/hobart/emergencies/  or the Tasmanian Fire Services website: www.fire.tas.gov.au

Visitors should also feel free to contact us directly on 03 6289 1137, or enquiries@lakestclairlodge.com.au for further information related to stays at Lake St Clair Lodge.
